HEADWRAP is one of those rare south african tv ‘culture’ tv programs that isn’t trying to ram even more american r&b;stars and same ol same ol joburg celebs down your throat every week. it’s ‘a factual series that brings together two characters from the South African cultural landscape that have opposing realities and different points of view’.
Next week Thursday (27 July), 18:30 PM, HEADWRAP features African Dope Soundsystem MC TEBA SHUMBA who collaborates with Afrikaans monki punk Chris Chameleon.

HEADWRAP ask Teba and Chris to combine their artistic styles and produce a performance which fuses poetry and music. This performance will be done in front of an audience of Chris̢۪ dedicated fans at the Dorpstraat Theatre in Stellenbosch. Can rasta and rock god rhyme together?
Teba and Chris both have reservations. Chris asked whether they would found a common message where as Teba wonders if the crowd would be responsive. Will Teba and Chris be able to displace themselves from their safe havens and explore the dimensions of another musical style that is not in any way similar to theirs? Turn into HEADWRAP to find out if these dynamic acts are able to become a dynamic duo.
